Far Cry 5 Review – One Against All

Read Time:3 Minute, 11 Second

Far Cry 5 is an open-world first-person shooter released by Ubisoft on March 27, 2018. According to the developers, the game was supposed to be an action-adventure (action-adventure), but in fact it turned out to be a cool action thriller, where there is little adventure, but a lot of that very action.

As Rambo

According to the story, in the fifth part of Far Cry you will find yourself in traditional “white” part of the U.S., namely in the state of Montana. The people there are simple, they grow wheat, raise cattle, carry guns and honor traditional American values. It was they who supported Trump in the election and voted against liberalism and globalization. And now, in this traditional part of America, sectarians appear and gradually take over almost all of Montana.

Let’s face it, the sectarians are not peaceful at all, but bloodthirsty and ruthless killers with their ideology. Very quickly they manage to dispossess the local rich, raise a whole army and bring the local population to the point where people take up arms and defend themselves from the brutality by becoming the armed opposition. And you, acting as a deputy sheriff, must destroy the sectarians, save the brave opposition and arrest the main fanatic, named Joseph Sid.

Far Cry 5 is first of all an action game, where you will be shooting and fighting a lot, completing easy tasks and admiring the local beauty.

The graphics in the game is really fantastic, and everything looks very realistic.

And you can also fly the plane and take part in several air fights, drive your ATV and tractor, take as pets a huge bear, a tough dog and a fearsome cougar, fish and hunt in the remote corners of Montana. It’s just like Rambo: First Blood, with you as the main character and no cops against you, but fanatics.

About the gameplay

In Far Cry 5 you will get to the completely opened world, you will be able to go to the every part of the state, fish and feel yourself like a tourist. Also you won’t have the traditional mini-map with markers, so you will have to explore everything by yourself. It’s long, sometimes tedious, but more often than not, a hike through the mountains can lead you to an unplanned event – the game lives its own life, events occur without your participation. For example, you can come across a gang of novice sectarians who “clean up” the village – be sure to help the locals, and they will reveal to you some secret. We advise you to explore the map in detail, because there are a lot of such events.

The gameplay itself is not much different from traditional first-person shooters – you will be shooting a lot of guns, automatic rifles, grenade launchers and other weapons, destroying buildings and outposts of your enemies, capturing cars, ATVs and planes. Act just like Rambo in the famous movie – one against all, you can even shoot with a bow, using the unusual angle of view.

As the story progresses the passage becomes more and more difficult, the degree of tension is growing, because the carnage involves more and more forces. Militiamen and sectarians send in troops, while the feds are not heard from at all.

Amid the brutal street battles, it does not appear that the U.S. government is somehow trying to resolve the conflict. The sheriffs and the vaunted National Guard are nowhere to be found, so you act almost single-handedly, bringing in a few local helpers.

However, this flaw in the script was made on purpose, so you can enjoy the full development of the story. And to influence the ending directly – make sure to pass Far Cry 5 to the end, it is worth it.
